Its a small point, I know, but I am offended by phrasings like "digging up dirt on Biden" and similar constructions that I see in media stories about the Ukraine scandal. What Trump actually wants is a lie, a smear, and this is the terminology that should be used to describe it.
The “dig up dirt” phrasing implies there is actually something dirty about what Biden and his son did. And to the average American voter, its likely more important in their opinion that they find out about that dirt, regardless of how unethical Trump may have acted to get it revealed.
But in reality, there is no "dirt" and there never was. Biden did nothing wrong in the Ukraine, and neither did his son. He did nothing wrong in China either.
So in order to fulfill Trump’s demands, other governments would have to make something up, a lie, a smear about Biden and his son. This is what Trump actually wants.
And I wish this is how the media would start describing it, because that is the truth.
